In the Spring of 2017, Maria offered public workshops at the Frist Center for Visual Arts in Nashville, TN to create one of five community-built artworks for an exhibition titled Extrasensory. Community members created ceramic pinch pots that represented individual taste buds and participated in blind taste-tests and sound experiments. The ceramic pots will be installed on the wall in the shape of a tongue and accompanied by a "symphony of sounds" recorded while participants tested six different food tastes.
The Community Art Exhibition will be open October 2017 through May 2018, and the Community Day will take place on November 10.
